Dr. Fleming graduated from Clemson University in 1973 with his BS degree in Dairy Science.  In 1977 he graduated from the University of Florida with a Master's degree in Biochemistry and Physiology. In l981 he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida. After graduation from veterinary school Dr. Fleming and his wife spent 4 years in the Air Force (base veterinarian) on a Strategic Air Command base, K.I. Sawyer AFB, in the upper peninsula of Michigan near Lake Superior. After their time in the military the Flemings relocated to Palos Park, Illinois and Dr. Flemlng was a staff vet in a general practice in Palos Heights for 5 years. In l989 the Flemings started their own business, Veterinary Housecalls, Ltd. In 1996 the staff had grown into the need of a permanent location and it was then that Prairie State Veterinary Clinic began. Dr. Fleming is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association and the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology. Off hours Dr. Fleming enjoys reading, walking his dogs, gardening and feeding the birds (squirrels)!

In October 2011 Dr. Lauren Tassone joined me in practice. Lauren worked in our practice throughout high school, college and vet school. She has an infectious laugh and is a real joy to work with. She is a 2009 Illinois grad and is enjoying her career as a vet because she truly cares about people and helping with their sick pets. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, listening to music and reading. Dr. Tassone is a skilled veterinary surgeon and is pursuing her interest in veterinary dentistry.

Dr. Frank Norton has been working with me for the past 4 years after a long and well-known career as one of the top board-certified veterinary internists in the Chicago area at the old well-known Berwyn Animal Hospital. Berwyn was the first specialty practice in Chicagoland and Frank saw all of the hard cases from us GP's throughout the suburbs for decades. Dr. Norton, as an internist, continues to elevate the level of internal medicine diagnostics and care that we offer. Dr. Norton also sees clients from other local clinics for second internal medicine opinions. When he is not wearing his veterinary hat Dr. Norton spends time as a very accomplished amateur photographer and has won many awards for his work. Upon entering our clinic take time to notice the photo of the two wolves. Dr. Norton graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980.

Dr. Angela Riffice received her BS degree in Animal Science at the University of Illinois and then her DVM degree from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Dr. Riffice recently complete her certification in veterinary acupuncture and is one of very few veterinarians in the Chicago area to do so. She is an accomplished veterinarian and worked at another local clinic for 7 years before joining us in 2019. Dr. Riffice says the best part of her job is helping animals and building long-lasting relationships with the  pets and their owners. Dr. Riffice grew up in Orland Park and her dad had a long career at Sandburg High School. In fact, some of our employees had him for a teacher. Dr. Riffice and her husband Tony and son Alexander have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a horse. In her spare time she enjoys being with her family and pets, riding horses and competing in pageants. A fun fact is that she was Mrs. Orland Park in 2017.
