Tip For Parents Of Teenagers

Do you stay up late at night waiting for your teenager to come home like I did for years? Were you exhausted the next day, like I was? When my third daughter started dating, etc. I found a way to let me sleep. From our garage she would enter the house through the kitchen. My bedroom is off the kitchen. On the kitchen counter I put an alarm clock and set it for her curfew time. She knew that she had to be in the kitchen to turn that alarm off before it woke me up. Not only did this trick allow me to go to sleep at 11, with more peace, it also gave her a darn good excuse to be home on time when her friends were cajoleing her to stay out longer past her curfew. She eventually told me she appreciated this. I learned this from an older and wiser father.
